Mark E. Archambault DHSc, PA-C is Associate Professor and Director of Research for the High Point University Physician Assistant Program. He has taught PA students full-time since 2001, and worked full-time in primary care serving medically-underserved communities in Central Pennsylvania prior to becoming a faculty member. Dr. Archambault has extensive experience in writing board review questions, previously authored a review book chapter, and has presented nationally on processes developed to improve the PANCE scores of graduating students.
Anthony Brenneman MPAS, PA-C is Associate Professor and Associate Director at the University of Iowa Physician Assistant Program. He has taught PA students full time since 2004 and precepted students prior to this. Before teaching, Brenneman worked full time in Hematology/Oncology inpatient Bone Marrow Transplant at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics, where he continues to work part-time as his teaching duties allow.
Shalon Buchs, MHS, PA-C is an Assistant Professor at the University of Florida School of Physician Assistant Studies. She has been educating PA students since 2008, and has been the recipient of multiple teaching awards. Additionally, she serves the Florida Academy of Physician Assistants as a county representative, and has given lectures at their state conferences. She is an active member of AAPA and PAEA, and serves on the PAEA Awards Committee. She has clinical experience in Primary Care and Emergency Medicine, and continues to practice emergency medicine when the academic schedule allows.
Kimberly Dempsey, MPA, PA-C is an Associate Director and Assistant Professor at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia. She has practiced clinically in Pediatric Dermatology at Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters in Norfolk, Virginia since 2004. Dempsey is also a lecturer at numerous state Physician Assistant and Pediatric conferences.
Carol Gorney MPAS, PA-C is a 1990 graduate of the University of Iowa Physician Assistant Program. She has practiced clinically in family medicine, obstetrics, and emergency medicine. Currently, Gorney works as the director of clinical education for the University of Iowa Physician Assistant Program and provides clinical services in emergency medicine and urgent care.
Shaun Grammer, MSPA, PA-C is an Academic Coordinator and Assistant Professor at Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Indiana. He has practiced clinically in Pediatrics and Family Medicine. He has also given presentations locally, regionally, and nationally.
Lawrence Herman, RPA-C, MPA, DFAAPA is an Assistant Professor and Academic Coordinator in the Department of Physician Assistant Studies at New York Institute of Technology, and Vice President and Medical Director at Island Medical Physicians. He holds a Master’s Degree in public administration, healthcare administration, and healthcare finance. Herman is a Director-at-Large for the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA), past Chair of the Professional Practice Council, past Chair of the Clinical and Scientific Affairs Council, and a Past-President of the New York State Society of Physician Assistants. He is a Distinguished Fellow of the AAPA, the 2009 recipient of the New York Institute of Technology Annual Scholars Award, the 2008 Standard of Excellence Award, and the 2006 and 2008 Educator of the Year award.
David J. Klocko, MPAS, PA-C is an Assistant Professor and Clinical Coordinator at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center Department of Physician Assistant Studies. Prior to entering PA education, he worked in Emergency Medicine.
Susan LeLacheur, DrPH, PA-C is an Associate Professor and Director of the Didactic Curriculum for the Department of Physician Assistant studies at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Healthcare Sciences. Her clinical experience is in primary care and HIV/AIDS. Her research interest is in behavioral aspects of patient care and the reduction of bias and stereotyping in the clinical encounter.
Rebecca Lovell Scott, PhD, PA-C is the senior Academic Coordinator for the new Physician Assistant Program at Johnson and Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island. Trained at Bowman-Gray School of Medicine (now Wake Forest University) PA Program, she worked clinically in Primary Care and Psychiatry in medically under-served areas of North Carolina, Virginia, and Massachusetts. Following completion of her PhD in Public Health at the University of South Carolina, she began teaching in Physician Assistant Programs, most recently at Northeastern University in Boston, MA.
John Oliphant, MHP, MSEd, RPAC, ATC is an Assistant Professor at the Rochester Institute of Technology Physician Assistant Program. Previously, he served as an Instructor from 1998-2001 and as a Clinical Coordinator from 2001-2011. He has an extensive background in Sports Medicine having worked as a Certified Athletic Trainer in the Baltimore Orioles and Boston Red Sox organizations, at Elmira College, in Sports Medicine clinics, as well as at several Empire State Games and the World University Games. His clinical work as a Physician Assistant has taken place in a variety of settings including Primary Care Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Occupational Medicine, Urgent Care, and Sports Medicine. Oliphant has written and spoken extensively on various Sports Medicine and other health related topics and serves in a leadership capacity in several local community organizations.
Louise Papka, PA-C, MPAS, DFAAPA is an Associate Professor and Academic Coordinator at the University of South Dakota Physician Assistant Studies Program. She has taught PA students fulltime since 2006. She continues to work part-time in Acute Care and Family Medicine for Sanford Health Clinics.
Nguyen H. Park MS, PA-C is a clinical Assistant Professor in the Physician Assistant Studies Program, Department of Healthcare Sciences at Wayne State University. After graduating from the University of Michigan with dual degrees in neuropsychology and biology and working in biomedical research, she received a Masters of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Wayne State University. Since 2003, Park has worked clinically in cardiology. She is a fellow of the Michigan Academy of Physician Assistants, participating actively in MAPA’s CME planning committee, and has lectured regionally and at the state level.
Eryn K. Smith MS, PA-C is an Assistant Professor in the Physician Assistant Program, in the College of Health and Human Services at Eastern Michigan University. After graduating from the University of Michigan with a degree in Sociology and working as a Paramedic and Firefighter, he received a Masters of Science in Medicine from Western Michigan University. Since 2005, he has worked clinically in interventional cardiology, heart failure, and cardiac electrophysiology at the University of Michigan. He is on the Board of Directors of the Association of Physician Assistants in Cardiology, and a fellow of both the Michigan Academy of Physician Assistants and the AAPA. Along with helping to develop a new physician assistant program at Eastern Michigan University, he has lectured at local, national, and international conferences.
Lynn Timko-Swaim MS, RPAC, MT (ASCP) has been a faculty member in the Department of Physician Assistant Education in the School of Health Technology and Management at Stony Brook University for over 15 years. She completed her physician assistant education at Stony Brook University and received her graduate degree from St. John’s University in Queens, New York. Timko-Swaim is the director of Post-Professional Education and teaches in both the entry-level PA program and in the PA Post-Professional Masters Program. She also enjoys being active in both PA student society and Stony Brook University alumni affairs.
Amber Whitmore, MMS, PA-C is an Assistant Professor at The University of Florida Department of Physician Assistant Studies in Gainesville, Florida. After completing her undergraduate degree at Michigan State University she received her Physician Assistant master's degree at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. She has practiced clinically in Orthopaedic Oncology and Adult Reconstructive Surgery at Emory University Midtown Hospital. Whitmore is also a lecturer at numerous state and national Physician Assistant conferences.
Jennifer Wohl DHSc, PA-C is an Assistant Professor in the Eastern Virginia Medical School Physician Assistant Program.
